Call for Proposals
Request for Theatre/Dinner packages
The Bonavista Historic Townscape Foundation, a not for profit organization which owns and operates The
Garrick Theatre, is seeking proposals from private restaurateurs in the region for packaged dinner prices in
conjunction with the theatre's Saturday Summer Music Series. While there may be some form of food service
available at the Garrick Annex in 2012, the objective here is to provide The Garrick's patrons with a variety
dinner options for various restaurants in the region prior to attending events at The Garrick. When seeking
tickets for any SSMS event, patrons will have the convenience of purchasing one of the dinner/theatre
packages at The Garrick's box office.
Please note that lunch options are also acceptable as some people attending evening performances may
prefer to go out for lunch, and there will be at a least a couple of afternoon performances in the 2012 SSMS.
Proposals must include the following:
1) description of the menu item(s) to be offered for lunch or supper, as you wish them to be described in the
theatre/dinner packages on our web site and in any other promotional materials
2) the price at which you wish your portion of the package to be offered. The total price must be a round
number (eg., $15.00, $18.00, $20.00) including HST but excluding gratuities. You may include more than
one menu option if all options are offered for the same price. We can accept only one package price per
establishment.
3) the hours at which the lunch and supper options will be available (note that most people will prefer to be
finished their meal and leave for the theatre by 30 minutes or more prior to the start of the performance,
depending on the location of the restaurant. Most evening main stage performances begin at 8:00 p.m.;
afternoons - 2:00 p.m.).
Due to the large number of food service establishments in the region, we will not be able to offer
dinner/theatre packages for all. Proposals will be assessed on the their merits in three key areas:
1) creativity, quality and variety of the menu options
2) price
3) location
The Foundation reserves the right to decline any and all proposals.
Closing date: April 6 (5:00 p.m.)
