Dear Minister Mackay:
My name is Ken Skiffington and I worked at the Garrick Theatre for around five years before Mr. Bradley retired and closed it. A year or so after I opened it myself, and for three years it done good, for only open 3 nights a week, but the building needed a lot of repairs like new clapboard and the roof leaked in a lot of places ect. It was to much to handle so it closed again, that was a sad day for me. There was a lot of disappointed people in the town and surrounding areas.People kept asking me when will the theatre open again, and they still do to this day. I would still have it open today if the building was in good shape. Please do not take away a chance for the people of Bonavista and surrounding areas to be able to go out with there familes and enjoy seeing a movie on the big screen again. Believe me there is nothing like it.I know that the theatre will be a big thing again in Bonavista,if you only give it a chance.
Yours sincerely,
Ken Skiffington
