Dear Minister MacKay,

I think you should give our town some money to get the Garrick Theatre finished. Lots of people around here have never seen a movie on the big screen. Some people here do not have a car and therefore they cannot drive to Clarenville or St. John's to watch movies.

Also you could get money from tourists because they would love to see a movie or a play. This will keep them in Bonavista longer. The government can collect taxes from them when they buy stuff from the stores or spend money at the restaurants or got to the theatre.

There are a lot of people in Bonavista, Catalina, Elliston, Spillars Cove, Newmans Cove, all the way up to Kings Cove, in other words the Bonavista peninsula that would watch plays or movies. I think it's a good business deal. A lot of people will buy tickets.

I hope this letter has helped, with all the other ones, to help make your decision.

Yours sincerely,
Patrick Fleming
